Then there's lunch time. This is The Smokers' Alley around the corner from my office. There are a few places near me that require me to hike through the smoke cloud. Here, there are close to 20 lit cigarettes going all at once. Gag me. This is right next to the structures sticking out of the ground that might be mistaken for bike racks if they were moved away from the building a bit.

I got out a little late today, didn't see Karen, so kept on truckin' home. I say truckin' but I wasn't, really. I was actually taking it pretty easy. I had to get the groceries that you saw in the first photo, so I took this ultra-steep part of Turkey Creek trail again. It's still as steep as ever.

I also slogged through some of Dave's stomping grounds. 71st St, Pflumm, Lackman, Blackfish... Oh joy. Hillfest.

A smidge under 35 miles today. I'm tuckered out.
Those hills on Lackman and Pflumm north of 87th really blow chunks. I'll go miles out of my way to take Quivira instead. My kingdom for direct north-south neighborhood streets...
ReplyDeleteIt was getting too late. I won't ride Quivira between 1630 and 1830 and it was about 1700 when I crossed Quivira on 71st. Even for the mile or so it would have taken to get down to 83rd (a great road!) I just couldn't get myself to do it. Earlier or later than that, it's not too bad.
ReplyDeleteDude, your license plate says it all!
ReplyDeleteYes, it does... but did you have to Google it? :P
ReplyDeleteNaw man, my Hummer plates say Ubuntu.
ReplyDeleteYou'd be surprised how many Self-proclaimed "Linux Experts" haven't heard of OpenBSD. You wouldn't be surprised how many Self-proclaimed "Linux Experts" aren't really Linux Experts. Of course, most of the actual experts at anything realize there's so much more to know than they're capable of picking up in their lifetime, so they neither call themselves experts nor do they stop trying to learn as much as they can.
ReplyDeleteOpenStep on everything. Debian on a music server box only so we can export Firefox when needed. It was fucking perfect 10-plus years ago.
