I love my windbreaker

I always get a little more room on the road when I wear it.

I definitely needed it this morning, too.

Went on the Monday Night Ride yesterday, and my wife actually came and hung out with us afterwards. Her medical issues have kept her off the bike this year, but getting out and socializing is something she doesn't do nearly enough. Social Anxiety Disorder isn't just "all in your head" or excessive shyness, so this is a pretty big deal, and I'm proud of her.

It sounds like next week's Monday Night Ride will be a halloween-themed ride. No, we won't all dress up, but we'll do the traditional ride to Sauer Castle like we did last year.

On my way to work this morning, I surpassed last year's mileage total (4,236) so I've got about 760 miles to go to make my goal of 5,000 miles for the 2008. Things are starting to get blustery, and the threat of precipitation is looming. Will I make it?

The weather is going to crap this week. What to wear...what to wear...

I'm at 1,840 for the year and I'm looking to surpass last years record of 2,037. I figure if I hammer this week and the next I'll have it and then some. I then can coast through Nov and Dec and add additional miles for "icing."

Awesome, dude! So close you can taste it! I know Houston doesn't get a lot of the freezy stuff, so here's to hoping your "icing" is proverbial and not literal!

Congrats on the mileage! Which Monday Night Ride are you referring to? Tienda Casa Paloma? I'd love to see that castle.

Yeah, That's the ride! We go all year, one of the few group rides that's all-season.

Noah....Awesome mileage for the year. I don't have to tell you how far you've come in just two years. And, don't think of it as 760 miles, think of it as only 10.7 miles a day for the rest of the year. Piece of cake!

....you're at 14.4 miles per day for the year up until now. So you can slack off and still make it to 5,000.

Great jacket. 5,000 sure is a lot of mileage, and it's looking like you'll make it. You are doing a great job! I'm not going to come close to hitting my mileage goal for this year, but I've had a few major life events get in the way. Maybe next year!
