The sleep schedule (or lack thereof) been hecktic this week. I didn't get out Saturday like I'd wanted to. I was indoors most of the time, and sleeping a good part of the day as well.
I did have to make a quick midnight grocery run, though. For this, I rode The Goat. At 36 degrees, it felt good to get out. I didn't even bother with socks. Just threw on my ratty Sketchers and an ankle-strap to keep my jeans out of the chain, a windbreaker over my t-shirt, a headband and my Specialized Deflect gloves. It was a great ride, albeit short.
Maybe I'll get out tomorrow. It's hard telling the way things have been going on the weekends.

That's a shame, man. It was gorgeous out yesterday. Sometimes, though, catching up on missed sleep is just too important to miss. You're probably better off for it.
ReplyDeleteAt least you were able to get out a little bit.
I'm not sure if you know, but the end of June is when I moved to my current location and was finally able to go bike-only for a sustained amount of time. My old round trip was close to 50 miles and while I did ride it all the way on occasion, that was just too far to make it a habit.
ReplyDeleteWell, when you consider that less than 1/5 of my 4,200ish miles in 2007 were recreational riding, and that I didn't start ditching the bus in earnest until July, I think it's safe to say I'll probably make up the miles pretty quickly just by ditching the bus earlier this year.
I'm a lurker on your blog... a lazy weekend-only biker inspired by your miles.
ReplyDeleteDoing some research for school, I found this article, which I thought as a biker and an IT guy, you might appreciate. http://www.wikisym.org/ws2007/_publish/Priedhorsky_WikiSym2007_GeowikiBicyclistsSharing.pdf
Would be cool to have a wiki with info from/for KC bikers.
